40Hz – Music & Neuroscience Research

3 October 2026 · Lucignano d’Asso, Montalcino, Tuscany

For Naturali Frequenze 2026, 40Hz moves from the Musical Atelier into the open landscape of Lucignano d’Asso, bringing its research on low frequencies, sound, perception and listening into a natural environment at sunset.

The landscape becomes part of the listening experience. Sound interacts with air, distance, space and the physical presence of the surrounding environment, extending the research beyond the studio and into a shared outdoor setting.

The program presents two original live works developed within the 40Hz research framework.

Taketo Gohara & Stefania Bonomini will present a new composition created specifically for 40Hz, combining electronics and modular systems.

Mattia Valentini, previously artist in residence for 40Hz at Casa degli Artisti, will perform a live set exploring electronics, sound modulation and sub-bass frequencies.

Naturali Frequenze offers a new context for the project, where artistic research meets one of Tuscany’s most distinctive landscapes and listening becomes a relationship between sound, body and place.
